This was a Wednesday night, the 3rd show in Letterman´s premier week on CBS. The Docs did a very lively jam with the brand new CBS Orchestra. The song began with Paul Schaffer holding up an alarm clock that read 4:30. This was the Docs 3rd appearance with Letterman, and their 1st appearance on the new CBS show.
