Review by Dave Engleman:
The Festival: as I missed local Gathering Of The Vibes, as well as Phish Randall´s Island NYC, I was craving a nice outdoor show. The set up was real nice in Westport CT. Raw Oyster Cult (feat members of The Radiators) was real fun. Anders Osborne was good, too, even had some of the Rads guys join him.
The Spins: they headlined and closed out Saturday night. It was a standard “whiskey era” set list. Which is not too shabby, they are playing great these days, I like the new blues songs like Some Other Man and always enjoy About A Train and The Drop. However, I´ve seen the Spins several times in the recent Whiskey era, and as hardcore fan, it was just the same old stuff 🙂 I got to see them play with Ivan Neville at Brooklyn Bowl. I got a Freeway at Tarrytown and HOUSE at The Cutting Room last year. Westport didn´t have any extra set list “treats” for me. But a good time.
